HITO Headstart

HITO Headstart is a programme designed to help you settle in to your apprenticeship smoothly, and provides another avenue for you to have any questions answered, figure out how to make the apprenticeship work for you and tips and advice on how to make the most of your journey to becoming 100% qualified.

With regular Zoom check ins, one of our experienced staff at HITO will talk with you about learning styles, self-motivation, and the expectations of the programme, as well as talking about your assessments. After three months, your Sales and Training advisor will be ready to see you in your first Training Site Visit and will see you through to the end of the qualification.

HITO Headstart is available to all new hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy apprentices. Whether you are signing in to your first year, second year or third year, you are eligible to take part.

The one-on-one sessions are all virtual, and take place using Zoom, so you can check in with HITO from anywhere! These chats could be anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes, it’s all up to you! While we will have a general topic to cover, if you want to discuss things in more or less detail, we are here to do that for you!

No, there is no obligation to take part in the HITO Headstart programme. However, we encourage you to at least have an initial chat with our facilitator to run through the apprenticeship programme in a bit more depth and answer any questions you may have before your first training site visit.

There is no additional charge for participating in the HITO Headstart programme.
